The University of Texas at San Antonio Department of Counseling, Educational Psychology, and Adult and Higher Education (CEPAHE) has an outstanding cadre of full time faculty to provide our students with an unequaled educational experience. Combined with the numerous lecturers who teach our classes from the practitioner’s point of view, we have assembled an exceptional instructional core, and these faculty pages are here to assist you in learning more about them.

We have over 27 faculty members in our department with national and international reputations in their areas of specializations. Their levels of expertise covers a wide-range of experiences, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences which add to the wonderful diverse academic experience you would attain at UTSA. Diversity, creativity, and relational development are demonstrated by the foci of this wonderful group of colleagues in their research, teaching and service interests.

Our faculty members have authored over 30 books, including many seminal works in creativity in counseling, educational psychology, multiculturalism, substance abuse and mental health counseling. Their scholarly articles, on a wide range of topics (ranging from motivation to self-injury) are almost innumerable and are published in the flagship journals of our profession.

We have Presidents of professional organizations and great community leaders. Most importantly, we have exceptional educators who value the students and push them to excel in their academic pursuits. Teaching, research, and service are equally valued by all and are displayed in their exceptional vitas.
